SCHOOL ACCOUNTABILITY

Federal requirements mandate that all students in grades 3-8 and once in high school meet state academic achievement standards for reading and math. The goal is for all students to be proficient in reading and math by the spring of 2014.  The district and its schools must demonstrate adequate yearly progress (AYP) toward meeting that goal.

In Idaho, there are 41 targets that must be met in order to make AYP and at least 95% of all students and student subgroups must be tested. Schools that do not make AYP for two consecutive years in the same content area (reading or math) are considered "needs improvement" schools. A series of consequences follows this designation, and students who attend these schools may qualify for supplemental services.

School Report Cards are available to the left.  Please contact the district office at 733-6900 if you have questions regarding No Child Left Behind and the status of your child' s school.
