Purpose of the Twin Falls County Historical Preservation Commission The Twin Falls County Historical Preservation Commission was created in 1986 in response to an amendment to the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, which gave local governments a more definite role in the historic preservation of local sites. Counties across Idaho now have organized commissions that work to nominate properties and sites to the National Register of Historic Places. Also, these commissions survey local historical and archaeological sites, educate the community on historical resources and preservation, and submit grant applications for historical projects to the Idaho State Historic Preservation Office in Boise. The Twin Falls County Historic Preservation Commission plays an important role in informing, promoting and preserving the heritage of Twin Falls County. Shauna Robinson, Chairperson
